Distance Control
Everyone is looking for the swing secret to lower scores. While improving your mechanics and skills are big keys to unlocking your potential, most golfers are leaving a boatload of shots on the table simply though poor course management. We know from statistics that over 90% of shots are left short of the pin – this can be a game killer.
The reasons for this are:
- Poor ground strike (fat/thin)
- Poor face strike (toe/heel)
- Poor shot selection

Place your left hand at the base of the grip and clasp with your thumb placed in the moulded groove.

Now place your right hand on the lower part of the grip overlapping the thumb of the left hand. Your little finger should intersect between the left index finger creating an interlocking grip.

Finally clasp your right hand placing your thumb and index finger into the moulded grooves. Now you are ready to swing like a Pro!
The importance of a proper golf grip is one of the most written about topics in golf instruction. Yet most golfers that come to see me for the first time, grip a golf club in a way that is costing them power, accuracy and consistency. Remember, your grip is your only link to the golf club…

Slide one arm into the arm band halfway between the shoulder and elbow. Then wrap the velcro band around the lower part of your chest.

Now you are ready to practice your swing. The band will stop your elbows flaring out, improving your swing.

Grooves proper swing path The training band will groove a proper swing path encouraging a ‘Hogan-like’ swing.
Scoring
The scoring system in golf is different than that of most sports, where the higher score is the winner. In golf, success is determined by the lower score, or the fewest number of shots taken on the hole or in the round. Each course has a designated number, known as par, that represents the score a skillful golfer would shoot. Furthermore, each hole on a course, typically nine holes or 18 holes, has its own par score. A course’s par score is the sum of the par scores for each of the holes.
Golf Ball Search
A new rule was itroduced to golf, limiting the search period to 3 minutes is more consistent with the underlying principle that golf is to be played in a prompt and continuous way, without long pauses in play.In most cases, if the ball is going to be found, it will be found within the first 3 minutes. Although this change may increase the number of lost balls, on average the overall impact should be to speed up play. Knowing that the search time is limited to 3 minutes should encourage players to play a provisional ball when they believe there is a chance their ball may not be found.
Playing
Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. It is, unlike most ball games, cannot and does not utilize a standardized playing area, and coping with the varied terrains encountered on different courses is a key part of the game. The game at the usual level is played on a course with an arranged progression of 18 holes, though recreational courses can be smaller, often having nine holes. Each hole on the course must contain a tee box to start from, and a putting green containing the actual hole or cup 4 1⁄4 inches (11 cm) in diameter. There are other standard forms of terrain in between, such as the fairway, rough (long grass), bunkers (or “sand traps”), and various hazards (water, rocks) but each hole on a course is unique in its specific layout and arrangement.
Cleaning
Making sure all your golf equipment is maintained and clean is key to preserving them for a long time. Golf clubs can be expensive, so it’s beneficial to you to keep them in a good condition to avoid having to replace them often.
Trollys
The two main types of golf trolleys produced today are push/pull or electric. Golf pull trolleys require some effort, especially up a hill but it is a lot easier to push or pull than to carry your golf equipment single-handedly. They can come on a two, three or four-wheel frame. Another alternative is an electric golf trolley, whereby all the work is done by a motor and powered by a rechargeable battery. However, understandably, electric trolleys can be considerably more expensive.
Push Trollys
Push trolleys in particular are great if you want something you can leave in your car or garage between rounds with nothing to worry about. They also tend to be lighter, cheaper and also fold away smaller than the best electric trolleys.
Pull Trollys
Lasers are incredible tool in golf. They let you pinpoint the position where the golf ball will go, which is incredible. They helps you judge distance and accuracy, which is vital in putting.
Electric Trolleys
These electric trolleys can do all the hard work for you, taking the stress off the legs or shoulders and preserving energy for the last few holes so you can finish your rounds strongly.
Bags
Different golfers have different needs from their golf bags. Walkers need lightweight bags that can be easily put on their back for the entire round without zapping too much energy. Electric and gas cart users need extra storage and pockets that can be accessed when the bag is strapped in. Golfers who are dedicated to practice or speed golf will be interested in the minimal Sunday bag.
Clubs
The sheer volume of golf clubs on the market is enough to confuse the most experienced golf professional. Depending on your ability and budget, buying a new golf club can be a significant investment, so it’s important to do your research and not make any spontaneous decisions.
Full Set
A complete set of golf clubs typically includes at least two wedges, usually the pitching wedge and sand wedge. The pitching wedge is used close to the green, and the sand wedge is used out of fairway bunkers and sand traps around the green.
